How we rank

The list has 12 games. Here is exactly how each one got there and where every number comes from.

The sources

  • The Australian App Store charts for the Casino games category: top grossing and top free.
  • The public page of each game on the App Store: rating, number of ratings, age rating, size, languages, release and update dates.
  • The public page of each game on Google Play: rating, number of ratings, install band and age rating.
  • Steam, for the games that have a Windows or Mac version.
  • The publisher's own site, where the game can be played in a browser.

The order

Games are listed in the order of the Australian App Store top grossing chart for Casino games. The chart shows which games people keep playing. We use it as a measure of popularity, not as a reason to spend.

When we call these the best social games in Australia, we mean the ones that lead that chart. It is not a score of our own.

We include pokies, bingo, poker and blackjack, and no more than three games from one publisher, so the list is not one company's catalogue.

What is left out

  • Any app that advertises real cash prizes or cash-outs.
  • Any app whose store page does not say that it offers no real money gambling.
  • Real money casinos, betting sites and sweepstakes of any kind.

What the list is not

It is not a test of odds or payouts. Social games use virtual coins with no cash value, so there is nothing to pay out.

It is not paid placement. Nobody paid to be listed, and the download buttons are plain store links with no tracking.

Charts and ratings move. The stores were last read on 12 October 2026.
